Built on over 100 years of tradition, Newton Medical Center (www.newmedctr.org) today is a growing health center located off I-135 in south Newton, Kansas. The medical center offers current technology with services like open MRI, CT scanning, nuclear medicine, cardiac rehabilitation, DEXA bone scanning, digital mammography, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services and cardiovascular diagnostic testing.
As the hub of a growing 74-acre medical campus and a major employer in the area, Newton Medical Center is the community’s leader in healthcare. Newton Medical Center is using custom phone cards as a part of an admission kit in each patient room. They believe that there are many occasions when the patient needs to notify family/friends and doesn't have access to long distance. Also, they are using them in their Service Recovery kits that are available for all hospital staff to use in the event of an "unhappy customer" situation. For example, if a patient is delayed in the ER, and they need to contact family or if the family needs to notify other family, we can give them a phone card. Staff are using them in many different ways in an effort to say "we're sorry, we didn't meet your expectations. Please accept this as a small token." basically.
