Central Kansas Medical Center's history dates back to 1903, when a group of Dominican Sisters opened the first hospital in central Kansas. The medical center has grown and continues to provide quality medical care to the people of Great Bend and the surrounding areas. They chose to use custom phone cards as part of their centennial celebration. The photo that they selected was their first ambulance (which also doubled as the first hearse). Central Kansas Medical Center (www.catholichealthinit.org) has given phone cards away in several promotions including physician recruitment fairs, employee thank-you's and giving them to new parents on their OB unit .
