Communicating for Agriculture and the Self Employed, Inc. is a non-profit rural advocacy organization located in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. They have worked in Washington D.C. on behalf of farmers and the self-employed since 1972. In 1985, they began their international agricultural exchange program with 35 trainees from six countries. In 2003 they had over 1000 trainees from 45 different countries involved in the U.S. program. They also offer exchange opportunities to Americans who wish to experience agriculture in another country.

The Communicating for Agriculture Exchange Program will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2005. Considered the largest agriculture exchange program in the U.S., the CA Exchange Program brings together young adults with U.S. host companies/farms, facilitating an exchange of ideas, both professionally and culturally. The organization works with people in the agriculture, horticulture, turf management, equine and enology industries in 45 U.S. states and 45 different countries around the world.

The organization issues phone cards to each participant who arrives in the U.S. on our program, as everyone tries to keep in touch with family and friends back home! It’s also a great thing for them to keep in their wallet with the website URL and telephone number in case they need to contact the organization.
