Redmond Funeral Home opened on December 7, 1934 at 330 N. Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo, MI by Art Redmond Sr. In 1964, Art Redmond, Jr. purchased the business from his father. Art Jr. opened a second funeral home, Parchment Redmond Funeral Home in 1976. Third generation Funeral Director, Martha Redmond-Cox joined grandfather and father as a licensed funeral director in 1982. She purchased both Funeral Homes in 1995 and in 2001 moved the Kalamazoo business to its current location at 4100 S. Westnedge Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49008. Both locations offer prearrangement funeral planning and flexible financing for all types of funeral arrangements. The phone cards are given to families at the initial contact, during the removal of their loved one or at the funeral arrangement conference. Also, the cards are conveniently located in the funeral home lobby during visitations for guests to take with them and use at a later time.
