Rising star Oksana (www.oksana-k.com) is the latest crossover artist in the music business, as we know it. She is more than just a stunningly beautiful young woman. Born in Altai Siberia, Russia, in 1978, Oksana (Oksana Yurievna Kolesnikova) was introduced to the piano at a very young age by her parents, who had noticed in her an exceptional interest in music. She started her first lessons at the Alma-Ata School of Music in Kazakhstan and won her first piano competition at age 9. Oksana studied classical music for 17 years, winning competitions and earning scholarships for academic merit in music-related fields. She became increasingly popular when she emerged from being strictly a classical pianist to the versatile artist she is today. In 1993 Oksana moved, with her family, to the United States and settled in Florida. She graduated with honors from Florida State University in August 2001 and went on to achieve her American Dream. With a colorful repertoire ranging "from Bach to Rock" to her original works, Oksana wows audiences with her passionate and diverse playing, physical beauty and a warm, down-to-earth personality. She's a uniquely gifted composer whose music can touch people's lives in a very special way. Ever the achiever, the versatile Russian-born composer performs live concerts across the globe. Her most recent tours included appearances in England, Greece, Spain, Italy, S. Korea, Japan, Singapore and China, where she performed for U.S. Armed Forces. A new tour of military installations, including some of the largest carriers, is scheduled for the near future. She has released four CDs to date, with two more scheduled for release at the end of 2004. Along with her signature phone cards, Oksana is soon to launch her own line of apparel, jewelry, cosmetics and cigars among other products. Oksana offers her custom phone cards to fans as memorabilia. Each card provides actual calling time and a short greeting from Oksana, which is heard each time a call is made.
