The DAR Project Patriot committee is the official committee of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution that supports America's worldwide war against terrorism. Following the events of September 11, 2001, Project Patriot was activated as a special committee to organize and coordinate DAR support for the war against terrorism.

On a national level, the committee currently supports the wounded military personnel at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany. However, members and chapters are encouraged to support the men and women engaged in fighting the war on terrorism in any way appropriate. These activities could range from adopting a platoon to sending care packages to relatives of chapter members or even providing boots and books for ground troops.

As one of the most inclusive genealogical societies in the country, The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution boasts 170,000 members in 3,000 chapters across the United States and internationally. Any woman 18 years or older - regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background - who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership.

The phone cards were ordered with the express purpose of providing wounded military personnel at Landstuhl with a way to reach their loved ones while hospitalized.  All phone cards are donated to the Chaplains at Landstuhl for distribution to the wounded.
